The Holy Land Experience brings Jesus' times alive to children at River Cities Christian Church every Sunday. 9:00 a.m. -10 a.m.
Are you looking for a Sunday School that is different? Do your kids learn best by doing? If you are seeking a hands-on, visual learning experience for your children that will teach them about the truth of Salvation while learning valuable life lessons, come to The Holy Land Experience!
Kids 4 - 18 make up the Tribes of the old testament, as our Sunday School participants walk through the Holy Land learning about Jewish culture and the traditions of Jesus' day. Lessons include Bible memorization, good stewardship and much more.
The structure of The Holy Land Experience centers on bi-weekly visits to the Holy Land, and bi-weekly Sunday School classes. Students learn, help and recite memory verses on their traditional Sunday School weeks, to earn coins for their Widow's Mite Bank accounts. On these weeks, they are placed in age-appropriate classes with teachers who are knowledgeable about the Bible and can answer their questions. Class members receive colorful lessons to take home and review with their parents throughout the week.
Holy Land Experience Sundays are a bustle of activity. Upon arriving, youth don their Holy Land costumes. Everyone dresses for the time period in garb provided by River Cities Christian Church. The day begins with music in the courtyard and a lesson by a local rabbi on the Temple Steps. The Ark is opened and the scriptures scrolls are distributed for the kids to memorize before their classes the next week.
From the temple, the tribes separate to go to the Upper Room for some Holy Land inspired snacks, the Bread of Life & Living Water Mercantile to spend some of their hard earned money on Bible-related items, or to the Crafters' Corner to participate in the learning experience of the week. Youth may meet James & John, fishermen brothers who speak Hebrew walking along the Sea of Galilee, or they may meet the tax collector, who will demand a payment from their account.
You never know what the Holy Land might bring the next time you visit!
